Klovene udsættes for store belastninger – fx:
• Ujævn eller forkert vægtfordeling
• Manglende naturlig slitage
• Fugt, ammoniak og hårde gulve
• Uheldige detaljer i staldinventaret

Lameness in sows is unfortunately a common problem – and the cause often lies in the claws. Claw disorders are not only painful for the animals, they also increase the risk of secondary conditions and may lead to early removal from the herd.
Claws are exposed to significant stress, such as:
• Uneven or incorrect weight distribution
• Lack of natural wear
• Moisture, ammonia, and hard flooring
• Unfortunate details in pen fittings and design

• Pen layout and floor type
• Dry and stable conditions in the pens
• Feed that supports claw structure – e.g. through biotin, copper, and zinc
